After the 2020 federal decennial census was released in 2021, the County began the redistricting process. The purpose of redistricting is to redraw the district boundaries to rebalance the population between districts every 10 years so that each district is substantially equal in population and meets certain criteria within the Election Code and U.S. constitution.\u202f<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P> As a result of the redistricting process, in 2021 Map ID No. 74786 (aka the \u201cPatten Map\u201d) was adopted. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P> In April 2023, due to litigation, the Board of Supervisors set aside Map ID 74786 (layer name: CR_SUPDIST_2021) and approved Map A (layer name: CR_SUPDIST_2023) which established different supervisorial district boundaries. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P> November 30<\/SPAN>th<\/SPAN>, 2021 \u2013 Item #1 on <\/SPAN>agenda<\/SPAN><\/A><\/P> Hearing to consider two finalist supervisorial district maps and provide staff formal direction on selection of a final map for the 2021 redistricting process.
